At Wedeo Pictures we use state of the art film equipment to achieve the highest possible quality.  Of course, presuming that great equipment means a great film is like presuming that a guy with fancy saucepans can cook like Gordon Ramsey.  As far as we’re concerned these are just tools, it’s the craftsmanship that counts. Gear is only useful if it allows us to achieve our aim – to put you at the center of your story.

We shoot exclusively with large sensor camera equipment – mainly the Canon Cinema EOS C300 and Canon5d Mk III , these amazing cameras have been taking Hollywood by storm over the last few years and we’ve set up a reputation as being specialists in this field.  We shoot on the same cameras which have been used on big budget favourites such as Captain America and the Avengers films. What follows is a more detailed list of the equipment we use on our wedding shoots.

Cinema and Still Cameras

Canon Cinema EOS C300 – Our digital cinema camera for commercial & wedding work. It delivers absolutely lovely images that retains optimal highlight and shadow detail for post production.

Canon 5D Mark III – Our primary still camera and a second camera for cinema . Full frame with gorgeous coloring. We have shot a lot of our films with these cameras before moving up to the Canon C line.

Cinematic Motion Gear

Incredible cinematic movement can be achieved with the Freelfly MoVI M5 and M15 as well as the DJI Ronin-M.
High quality audio recording gear is also available for productions.

Steadicam Flyer LE  – (I love this setup. You can achieve incredible shots, although its very pricey. The arm and vest is very nice).

DJI Phantom 2 Drone with a GoPro Hero 3 – Our go to setup for aerials. Intercuts well with the C300/C100 in the 2.7k mode.

We also use sliders and small jib cranes with motion control.

Lights

We use HMI and Tungsten lights for interviews, with silks and honeycomb setups, furthermore we also use very portable lights like LED ligts,  Kino-Flo Divas and Dedos. Some of our lights include:

Arri Softbank Kit – Great lights to shape with and can be used for a variety of applications.
Kino Flo 4bank – Amazing light for interviews and commercial projects. Super soft!
Lowel Pro Lights – A tungsten based source that is great for reception lighting. We rig up two of these usually.

Anything additional can also be hired in.

Lenses:
Each lens has a special purpose. We use primes for their speed, image quality, and durability. I also think zooming with feet creates better images.
We primarily shoot on Zeiss ZE glass, but also have a whole kit of Canon L primes.
24mm 1.4 – A beautiful wide angle lens used for receptions and establishing shots. Its my go to Steadicam lens.
35mm 1.4 – This lens produces a really editorial look. Little distortion and great for formals/journalistic shots.
50mm 1.2 – My go to lens for just about everything. It produces beautiful portraits and detail shots with lovely bokeh. You should own this and the 35.
100mm 2.8 IS – Essential for close detail shots.
135mm 2.0 – A fantastic lens to compress your subject. Its small and light. Its much better to carry than the 70-200.
70-200mm 2.8 IS – The only zoom I carry. Its used for the ceremony only due to its quick flexibility.
